The Environment Foundation runs a comprehensive web-based Guide to the management of New Zealand’s natural environment.

The site provides freely accessible, practical and user-friendly information on the wide range of laws and policies which apply to New Zealand’s environment. Topics covered include the management of freshwater, biodiversity, air, marine and coastal areas, landscape, climate change, natural hazards, heritage and noise.

The resource will help people wanting to understand the way our laws work and to participate in decision-making processes. These will include plan-making across all environmental domains.

The site is neutral in content. It simply explains how environmental management is undertaken in New Zealand and will be of use to all sectors of society.

The Environment Foundation is a registered charity and donations to it are tax-deductible. If you’d like to support the guide, please go to our givealittle page to donate.
